Ditto the Beagle

This weekend was pretty busy! On Saturday morning I got to play with my good buddy Walter. We sure do have fun. But I also had to go to the bad place where he gave me TWO big needles, made me eat some yucky medicine and also looked at my teeth and ears. He told Dad that I looked like I was in pretty good shape. Like I needed him to tell me that. I already knew that!

Then in the afternoon Grandma and Grandpa and my cousin Max came up! Max and I tore it up running around the house. We had lots of fun and then laid out on the deck in the sun to rest.

On Sunday I mainly just rested to prepare for my week.

This has been an exhausting week. The Barkley is wearing me out. I plan to sleep most of the weekend. Although, I thought I heard Mom and Dad saying something about having to go to the VERY bad place for shots. I’m a little confused. I got shots when I was a baby, why do I need more? I’m perfectly healthy.

Mom and Dad started feeding me less. Apparently they were giving me too much food and my collar was getting too tight. Someone even said I was fat! I’m not fat! I’m a beagle, and I love to eat.

Ok, so today while I was at The Barkley I was reading about the football player who gave permission to pour water on a dog and electrocute them. What in the world is that all about? Why in the world would you ever, ever consider doing something like that? It’s bad enough for anyone to do that, but for a role model who is a football star to be involved is simply unacceptable. He should be kicked out of the league immediately upon conviction and banned for life.

Now I must return to my playing with my friends. Give your pet an extra pat on the head today to remember the abused animals out there who aren’t treated the way they should be.

I’ve been gone a long time, I know! But, you have to understand. I’ve been super busy tearing up the yard and enjoying the really hot weather. And, Mom and Dad left me for awhile. This time, though, they left me at The Barkley instead of the other kennel. I liked it much better at The Barkley. They gave me a frosty paw and I know most of the people there so I didn’t get nervous or upset at all.

Yesterday I got to play with my good friend Walter in the backyard. We had such a good time. He is fast, but I’m faster.

Tonight I came home from daycare and went right to sleep. Dad took this picture:
